Ephesus is one of the most important ancient cities in Türkiye and a major destination for travellers interested in history, archaeology and the ancient Mediterranean world.

Located near Selçuk in İzmir Province, Ephesus was an important centre during the Hellenistic and Roman periods and later became the capital of the Roman province of Asia. Today, visitors can walk along its ancient marble streets and see remarkable monuments including the Library of Celsus, Great Theatre, Temple of Hadrian, Terrace Houses and ancient agoras.

Ephesus is also more than the main archaeological site. The nearby House of the Virgin Mary, Temple of Artemis, Basilica of St. John and Selçuk can add important historical and religious context to your visit.
