Red Tour vs Green Tour in Cappadocia

The Red and Green Tours are two of the best-known sightseeing routes in Cappadocia, but they focus on different parts of the region.

The Red Tour generally concentrates on the northern and central areas around Göreme. Depending on the programme, it can include places such as Devrent Valley, Avanos, Göreme Open Air Museum, Uçhisar and panoramic viewpoints. It is a good choice if you are visiting Cappadocia for the first time and want to see some of the classic landscapes and cultural sights.

The Green Tour covers areas further south. A typical route may include Göreme Panorama, an underground city, Ihlara Valley, Selime Monastery and other viewpoints. It usually involves more driving but allows you to see parts of Cappadocia that are farther from Göreme.

So which one should you choose?

If you have one full day, the better choice depends on your interests. The Red Tour is often convenient for first-time visitors who want the classic Cappadocia experience. The Green Tour can be more appealing if you are interested in underground cities, valleys and the less central parts of the region.

If you have two full days, doing both gives you a much broader picture of Cappadocia.
