The ancient city was built on a natural mountain platform on Güllük Dağı, at an elevation of more than 1,000 metres. Surrounded by rugged mountains and dense pine forests, Termessos has retained much of its natural character.

Unlike many ancient cities in the region, Termessos is not located on the coast or in a modern urban setting. Its remote mountain location and natural surroundings create a peaceful atmosphere as you explore the archaeological remains.
