Çeçeva Tea Gardens – Rize, Local Villages & Black Sea Tea Culture

The Eastern Black Sea is closely connected with tea production, and Çeçeva is one of the villages where this landscape can be seen clearly.

The journey from Trabzon takes you along the coast and into the green hills of Rize.

One of the first stops is Memiş Ağa Mansion, a traditional wooden building that reflects the architecture of the region.

We then continue to Ağaran Waterfall, where you can take a short break and enjoy the surrounding forest.

The route continues towards Çeçeva (Haremtepe). The village is surrounded by tea gardens covering the steep hillsides. Depending on the season, you may see local tea workers in the fields.

There is also time for a local meal. Regional dishes such as kuru fasulye are commonly available in the area.
