Fırtına Valley, Zilkale, Gito & Badara – Castles, Rivers and Black Sea Highlands

This route takes you into the mountain valleys around Rize and the Kaçkar region. It combines the Fırtına River, a medieval castle, traditional stone bridges and two highland settlements.

The tour starts in Fırtına Valley, where the river runs through a narrow valley surrounded by forests and villages.

We continue to Zilkale, a medieval fortress standing above the valley. The location provides views over the river and surrounding mountains.

The route then passes through Şenyuva (Çinçiva) and continues towards Gito Plateau.

At Gito, you will have time to walk around the plateau and enjoy the mountain views. We then continue to Badara Plateau, another traditional highland area with wooden houses and open meadows.

Depending on road and weather conditions, the route may also include the Şimşir Forests.
